For Shopify stores selling made-to-measure and custom products

Shopify Sells Variants. Your Customers Buy Configurations.

A wall, a window, a floor, a run of signs. None of them are a dropdown. The price comes from measurements, materials, quantities and options that multiply into thousands of combinations, and the variant system was never built to hold that.

Appify Custom Product Options prices the product the way you actually quote it, shows the customer what they are buying before they commit, and sends production a print-ready file. One setup, and it works across everything in your catalogue.

14-day free trial. Free forever on Shopify Partner dev stores. The live demo needs no signup.

Same app, six different products. The inputs, the preview and the pricing all change with the tab, because that is what the configuration on each product tells it to do.

Why these stores need something else

Three Walls Every Custom Product Shop Hits

It does not matter whether you print stickers or hang blinds. Sell anything made to measure on Shopify and you run into the same three problems, in the same order.

1

Every size becomes another SKU

Four materials, three finishes and a size range is not twelve variants, it is hundreds. The catalogue turns unreadable, reporting stops meaning anything, and you still cannot offer the size the customer actually wants.

2

So you quote it by email instead

The product page stops being able to sell, and a person has to price each job by hand. Every quote is a delay, and every delay is a customer who had time to find someone faster.

3

And the specs arrive wrong anyway

Measurements typed into a notes field get misread. Nobody approved the artwork. You find out at the cutting table, and on custom work the material is not going back on the shelf.

Start where your product is

Find Your Product Type

The pricing logic is different for every one of these, and so is the thing the customer needs to see before they will commit. Pick the closest match and see how it is set up.

Not on this list? The pricing engine does not care what the product is. If you can explain how you quote it, it can be built.

The parts every setup uses

What Matters No Matter What You Sell

These are the pieces that show up in every single build, whether the product is a sticker or a staircase. Each one below is a working demo on our Shopify store, so you can go operate it rather than take our word for it.

Let Them See It Before They Buy It

Custom work fails at the imagination step. The customer cannot picture a 24 by 36 sign, cannot judge how big a pattern will look on a real wall, and cannot tell whether their logo will survive being printed at that size. So they hesitate, or they ask, or they leave.

The Product Designer puts a real artboard on the product page. Customers add text, clipart, shapes and their own images, and the canvas resizes as they change the size, material and finish, so what they are looking at stays true to what they are ordering.

It is optional, product by product. Plenty of shops run measurement pricing and a preview without ever turning uploads on.

What Production Actually Receives

Buying It Again Should Not Mean Building It Again

A configured product is not something a customer can just find and buy a second time. The measurements, the material, the options and the artwork were the order. Ask them to rebuild all of it and the easiest sale you have quietly turns into work.

It All Comes Back With It

Reorder straight from the order. One tap puts it back in the cart with every option and any uploaded file attached, exactly as it was produced the first time.
Or let the customer do it themselves.Past orders sit in the customer portal, so nobody measures the same window twice or digs through old email to remember what they picked.
Abandoned carts come back whole. The recovery email restores the configuration instead of dropping them on an empty configurator. On custom work, having to rebuild it is usually why the cart was abandoned.
Try before you install

Would you rather just go and use it?

Our Shopify demo store runs every one of these product types as a real, working configurator. Size a wall, spec a blind, work out flooring boxes, watch the price move. Nothing to install and no signup.

Everything the Pricing Engine Can Do

You will not need all of this. It is here because somewhere in it is the one rule that makes your hardest product finally work on a product page.

Pricing That Matches How You Quote

Charge from what the customer measures.Area, length, perimeter, volume or coverage, calculated from the dimensions they enter and updating as they type.
Formulas with over 50 maths functions.Whatever the shape of your pricing, it can be expressed. Variables let you reuse the same rate across a whole catalogue.
Pricing tables in one or two dimensions.Paste in the rate card you already use. Size down one axis, quantity across the other, exact numbers in the cells.
Quantity discounts that actually get steeper.Tiered breaks by volume, and by size and volume together, so the price rewards the orders you want more of.
Minimum charges and named fees.Floor the jobs too small to be worth setting up, and add rush, setup or install as their own visible line.
A price summary the customer can read.Show how the total was built, line by line, so nobody emails to ask why it costs what it costs.

Options That Behave Like Real Products

Conditional show, hide and require.Rules driven by earlier answers, so the form only ever asks what is relevant to the thing being built.
Multi-step flows.Break a long configuration into stages instead of dropping twenty fields on one screen.
Swatches, not dropdowns.Materials and colours shown as images that carry their own price, because nobody picks a finish from a text list.
Blocked combinations stay blocked.Dimensions outside what you can actually produce are stopped before the order, not after the material is cut.
Add-ons and accessories.Motors, stakes, hardware and extras priced individually and attached to the same line item.
One setup across the catalogue.Per-product detail is read from the Shopify product and variant, so a new product sells the day you publish it.

Fits Your Store, Not the Other Way Around

Native add to cart. The order goes through your theme's existing cart, so there is no workaround sitting between the customer and checkout.
No new variants, ever.Options and pricing live outside the variant system, so your catalogue stays readable and your reporting stays useful.
Looks like your store on day one.Six ready templates and over 120 built-in styles, tuned from the Theme Customizer. CSS selectors are there if you want them.
Edit without breaking the live page.Work in draft while shoppers keep seeing the last published version. Every publish saves a version you can restore.
Up to 10 languages, any Markets currency.Options, help text, buttons and the price summary all translate, and prices convert through Shopify Markets.
Describe it and let the AI build it.Explain your pricing in plain language and the setup is generated for you. Ask it what a rule does and get a readable answer back.

You Might Be Wondering

"I already have an options app."

Most do, and for options they work fine. The question is whether yours can price from a measurement, hold a rule about what you can physically produce, and hand production an approved file. If any of that is still happening in email, that is the part this replaces.

"This sounds technical. I don't write formulas."

Most merchants here don't. You describe your pricing in plain language and the AI setup builds it, or you start from a template and change the rates. Support will build the awkward one with you during the trial.

"My product isn't one of the six you listed."

Those are just the ones with demos ready. The engine works on measurements, options and rules, not on product categories. If you can explain how you quote it, it can be built.

"Will this slow my product pages down?"

No. Options load with the page and add to cart natively, without spinning up a separate cart flow or waiting on a third-party checkout.

"Do I have to let customers upload artwork?"

No. The designer is optional per product. Plenty of stores run measurement pricing and a preview of their own designs with uploads switched off entirely.

"How do I know it fits my products before installing?"

Go and use it. Our Shopify demo store runs all of these as real configurators, so you can operate one as a customer would before you install anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of products is this for?

Anything where the price depends on size, material, quantity or configuration rather than a fixed variant. Stickers, wallpaper, blinds, flooring, signs, print, upholstery, glass, framing and fabrication all work the same way.

Can I price from customer measurements?

Yes. Area, length, perimeter, volume and coverage can all be calculated from the dimensions a customer enters, then your rates, minimums and discounts are applied on top.

Does this create extra variants in my store?

No. Options and pricing live outside the variant system, so no combination of size and material ever becomes another SKU.

Do I need to know how to write formulas?

No. Describe your pricing in plain language and the AI-assisted setup builds it, or start from one of the ready-made templates and change the rates.

Can options depend on each other?

Yes. Conditional rules show, hide and require fields based on earlier answers, so customers never see an option that does not apply to what they are building.

Can customers upload and edit their own artwork?

Yes. The Product Designer includes a full artboard and a built-in photo editor for cropping, filtering, enhancing, annotating and swapping backgrounds. It can be switched off per product.

What files does production receive?

Orders can carry the measurements, all selections, an approved proof PNG, a print-ready PNG with bleed, a cut-line SVG and the canvas JSON for later re-editing.

Can customers reorder a past custom order?

Yes. A past order can be added back to the cart with every option and design file intact, either from the order itself or by the customer from their account portal.

Does it recover abandoned carts?

Yes. Recovery emails restore the full configuration rather than sending the customer back to an empty configurator.

Will it match my theme?

Yes. Six templates and over 120 built-in styles are adjustable from the Theme Customizer, and CSS selectors are available if you want finer control.

Can I edit without customers seeing a broken page?

Yes. Work in draft while shoppers keep seeing the last published version. Every publish saves a version, and you can restore an older one at any time.

What does it cost?

From $39 per month, with a 14-day free trial. The subscription scales with how much you use the calculators, and monthly AI credits are included, with an overage charge only if you go past them. Shopify Partner development stores are free.
